    Default cdti 150 update

mechanic has been out and it seems he has fixed all the problems by blanking the egr valve with a cut down drinks can.

need the blanking gasket now to block it off.

he thinks the valve was sticking open so the engine was trying to run on dirty air all the time.

now, what are the chances of the local fiat dealer having the gasket!

anyone know a part number by any chance?

i intend to find someone who can delete the egr valve from the software

well i fitted the fiat gasket and that did nothing.

removed it and fitted the irn bru can bodge back in with the gasket and it seemed to be better but with the spanner light on.
to avoid blowing the irn bru can to bits i took it all off again and fitted it all back together but this time added the blanking plate i got off ebay so the irn bru can is now only being used to cvoer the holes in the gasket and plate. seemed to be ok.

took it down the road, still seems to be in limp mode, getting fed up now.

    tried that, made no difference.

there is a black stain on the drive now tho from where the car has been idling. could it be stuck in the regen cycle do you think?

yeah i am thinking that and tbh i dont mind doing that.
whats holding me back is if they turn up and its something else at fault he may not be able to do the remap and deletion etc and i will have to pay twice then

once its running iw ill be getting the remap to delete the rubbish, just need it driveable first tbh.

thinking i may have to remove the dpf and smash the insides out just as a quick fix

an update for anyone following this.

mechanic had a quick look Friday, cleared codes, lights gone off but car still in limp mode.

car now being collected wedsnesday and dropped at a local recomended garage so with any luck it will be back on the road wednesday!

i think an enforced regen might be needed but cant risk taking it on motorway as it is.

once its running its getting remapped and egr and dpf deleted!!

i didnt in the end tbh, was raining and i am not 100% sure that's the problem tbh.

decided it was best to let a pro handle it this time as it maybe covered under warranty if needed anyway.

once these two are deleted tho hopefully i will have a fault free car that shouls last!
