Could someone please measure the distance between the top of the front wheel and the wheel arch directly above,
Had car MOT'd today and had to replace both front struts and front coil springs, but I think Euro Car Parts have supplied standard springs not for GSi, the car is sitting too high at the front now.
Have checked on their website and the springs are the same whether GSi or if Vectra 1.8. Not happy if they have screwed up.

Havent checked mine as i am lowered and have 18" wheels but that sounds deffo like you have the wrong springs.

When i needed a front spring for my gsi, i couldnt get any from motor factors, they only did 1 size for vectras. The only place i could find was vauxhall at £185 + vat for a pair (2year ago). In end i got full set of -30mm PI springs off ebay as it was cheaper than a pair of stock ones!

4" is a huge gap imo, although springs will settle, i doubt theyll settle that much

You also need to make sure your you get the correct rating of spring for your vehicle axle weights. These can be found on the drivers door pillar. A set of uprated / lowered springs usually works to be the best route......

I have started a thread compiling this type of data regarding different spring shock set ups. I think it would be a useful tool for people to use as a reference point as to see what sort of drop/setup they want before spending their hard earned. Take a look. The more input data collected the better.

I've just measured mine as it's on it's original running gear:

    54 plate preface GSi - 50k miles
    17inch GSi alloys
    215/50 R 17 tyres

    Front:
Distance top of tread to arch - 2in
Distance centre of hub to arch - 15in

    Rear:
Distance top of treat to arch - 1.5in
Distance centre of hub to arch - 14in

    Hope that helps.

Thanks Andy and Bish. I thought it looked too high. I am running 225's all round but shouldn't make that much difference in the distance
Will ring Euro on Wednesday. Question now is where to get springs from. The only reason i bought from them
was cos it was desperate and the only place that had stock.

Know how you feel Tango. Am after a LUK clutch kit for mine and there are none in the UK. Even LUK don't have any!
