Default 1.9 diesel vectra not starting

2006 diesel vectra won't start Will not crank over has no eml light on dash no fuel pump running Tried a Bosch code reader engine ECU not showing believe it could be no power to the ECU anyone had such a problem and how did you cure it By the way all fuses seem fine and all the contacts on the bottom of the fusebox appear good

Apparently there is a plug at the power steering pump and it could be loose, rendering the car immobile iirc. Could also be a frayed cable/wiring harness.

    1. Check wiring to ECU
    2. Check earthing points
    3. Remove ECU for testing/repair located in drivers wing front in a cradle can be stiff to remove.

BTW number 3 is the most common fault.

@ £120 to get them repaired

have you done a total vehicle read out with diagnostics such as opcom ?
there could be a problem somewhere on the can network that may well show up in one of the other ECU's

Have you tried looking at the connection on the power steering pump as Gaz said? Simmo3187's car was in the garage after a clutch and flywheel change, they couldn't get the car to start after it being there for 2 days. Went up there, plugged the diagnostics in, no communication to power steering pump as well as engine ECU. Quick look down the back of the engine reveled the plug wasn't connected. Plugged it in and off it went.
