Advice about oil change

Hey guys. I've been kidding myself for too long, the oil needs done. I have a 1.8 vec c. It's a 52 plate and the oil hasn't been done for over a year. I've done a fair few too many miles more than I should have without an oil change/filter change. I have a couple of questions before I crack on; because it had been so long since a change and the number of miles I've done, I was wondering if I should use a flush? And which oil should I use?

Dont use a flush is my advice

Get some GM5w30 fully synth oil and genuine filter..

regular oil changes is FAR better than using a chemical flush..

well ive got the 1.8 ls 04 reg and ive had it for nearly 6 years now and i use
GM 5W-30 DEXOS 2 FULLY SUPER SYNTHETIC OIL

i change the oil after 10000 miles

but its better for the engine every 6000 miles

as above you might have issues with sump plug so maybe buy a spare and not seen you on in ages

ive never flushed only a toilet lol

Don't use a flush. Either buy some cheaper oil drop old oil put cheap oil in run it round then drop out then fill with decent quality oil
or drop old oil an poor a litre or so of fresh oil straight through to drag any crap out.

Flush can sometimes do more harm than good

Hoping to get it done on Saturday. Seem to have no time nowadays to do anything. The oil hasn't been changed for about 19k or more miles, still just 5w 30 fully synth? Sure I heard something about fully synth being either bad or not the best for infrequent changes, I'm going to keep on top of it from now on. Can't leave it this long again! Just a bit unsure

No - fully synth is better so dont worry about that..

Use the GM5w30 Dexos2 and you wont go wrong..
