    confused Few questions....

Few questions about my car... 1.8 Sxi 2004

Done a full service two days ago except spark plugs so changed air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, cabin filter, oil and anti freeze. Also changed the thermostat as that had been playing up for quite some time..

I use to use 5w30 semi synthetic as that's what ECP listed for the car but have now found out that is incorrect and used the correct 5w30 fully synthetic in the car (from vauxhall).
My main question is... Should any of the above affect the clutch in any way? My clutch feels a lot lighter now. Don't know if it's something to worry about or be pleased about? Lol
My second question is... Even though I've changed the cabin filter I'm still getting the horrible smell of exhaust fumes in my car? Is there like a better filter I can get?
And finally with the thermostat change how long should I expect it to take to get up to normal running temperature and should I notice a difference in fuel consumption?
Any answers would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

The gearbox has it's own oil so no the oil change wont affect the clutch.

You can get an activated carbon pollen filter (cabin filter) that will filter out a lot of nasty smells instead of just using the paper one.

TBH if your getting exhaust fumes in the cabin it's not the filter you should be worrying about. Have you checked the exhaust (and exhaust flexi) for leaks?

Unless they're fumes from the car in front

The exhaust fumes are only when there's a car in front so I don't believe it's anything to do with my car, but I shall check this when I get home just for reassurance... Plus when driving on motorways and you drive past the smelly fields the nasty smell of horse crap comes in the car too (n) lol the car has now done 96000, spark plugs were charged by myself to bosch super 4's at 86000 so didn't see the need in getting them done too. Where can I buy this carbon filter from Ian? Dealers? Or any parts place? And thanks for the info Ste will keep an eye on temperature and see how long it takes for it to get to normal temp which I believe is 92? Or is that when the cooling fan should kick in :s
    Thanks again guys!
