Default Calling 2.0 DTI Owners, preferably 2.0 DTI Design.

    Guys,

Im going to (hopefully) look at a car tomorrow, its a 2.0 DTI Design on a 2005/05-reg, I take it its the very LAST of the 2.0 DTI's?

Anyway, what are they like? Engine, performance, economy, general drive?

Is it powerful enough for the body?

Also, whats the Design like, I know they come with the DAB and all the usual toys an LS has but is it generally a decent model?

Its a Pre-Face also, as the 05-reg probably suggests !

    Thanks.

I have driven plenty of 2.0 DTi's and always found them on a par with the old 1.8 for performance but need to be worked really hard to make rapid progress, I also find because they need worked hard economy isn't brilliant.

My outgoing Vec-B is a 2.0 DTI too and I also found that needed a lot of work to get it to the desired speed.

    Vehicle : Mokka

    Trim : SE - Orange Rock 's !!

    Engine : 1.7CDTi

    Year : 2014

    What mileage is the car?
I have had a couple of Dti's and i liked them, and when they are working they are good, but they can have some problems mostly to do with the turbo and boost pipes.
I used to get just under 50mpg, and I found them fast enough.
The cat converter gets carboned up and needs bashing out, a freeflow air filter helps too, and 2 stroke oil added to the fuel tank will help to lubricate the fuel pump.

But No Dual Mass Flywheel or Diesel Particulate Filter to go wrong. Yea!!

are you sure ? i'm pretty sure they do have one.

My DTI seems ok on fuel getting about 45-50 with a mix of city and rural driving.
not as fast as my bora 115pd though.

The dti deffo does have DMF, although due to the lack of torque they don't fail as often as the cdti's... mine never failed although my mates was replaced @ around 200k.
Although you're never going to beat any one off the lights, the dti is a decent cruiser & pulls well while on the move... bought mine with 80k & sold it with 155k, other than the usual vac tubes & split boost hose, my only issue was a cv joint.
