Default Steering wheel off centre after alignment

I Have recently had 4 brand new tyres fitted at kwik fit who also did my tracking for me after this i noticed my steering wheel was slightly pointing left as i was driving straight.
I decided to take my car to a place that did a full check and a 4 wheel laser alignment it was a cracking bit of kit and the guys that were working on it really went into detail of how it all works camber toe and caster really made me feel at ease for them to work on my car.

first impressions was brilliant it is driving great and i can tell it is driving straight and true as the rear was way out but the steering wheel is still off center whick looks odd and i dont like it.
I have had an Irmscher steering wheel fitted before tyres and tracking so it has me thinking that i have had it fitted when my tracking was bad and now its sorted its off center.

I called the place that did my alignment and they said bring it back and they will look at it for me, can they adjust my wheels to make my steering wheel central without putting my alignment out can anyone shed any light on this please.

    Cheers

    Paul

I would think they would have to take the steering wheel back off and put it back on straight

Personally, if the wheel is off centre following alignment, I'd be taking it back to whover carried out the alignment.

Before starting, they will generally lock the steering wheel dead centre using some form of locking device, then adjust the track rods & ends to get the correct alignment. I've had this issue previously and just taken the car back and asked them politely to redo it so that the steering wheel sits straight. You shouldn't have to be taking the steering wheel off to sort this out.

They did lock the wheel dead straight as I was watching the whole process so my question is if they want to get my wheel straight how do they do it

Take the steering wheel off There's no need to take the steering wheel off to correct it - it can be done quite simply by shortening one track rod end adjuster and lengthening the opposite side by exactly the same amount this will reposition your steering wheel and won't affect the steering geometry

Usual trick when adjusting front toe, is to adjust one side only, and this results in the steering wheel becoming off centre
