CD30 to CDC40

Hi all,

I am wondering if I upgrade to the CDC40 would I need my car Tech2ing for the steering wheel controls?

And also whats the difference between the seimens unit and blaupunkt?

No, the controls work as they do on a CD30, the only exception is if you have a UHP bluetooth module.
THe CDC40 has a 6 disk changer and a DAB receiver (if you have the aerial/wires with it, some CD30s have MP3 but that's about it.
The GID that comes with the CDC40 is better that the TID that comes with the CD30.

have you got a pic of your steering wheel controls do you have the rollers on either side

Yes I have the Rollers on each side. Should it just plug and play then?

Yes it should mate so do you have the bluetooth option fitted aswell

No I dont have the bluetooth option fitted in my car. May look into purchasing one of the CDC40s now!

i have just taken out a cdc40 from mine and put in a cdc70 navi if you want dab radio make sure it comes with the dab module but you will need to change over the aerial aswell

Is that an easy job to do.. Im not really looking at it for the DAB, I want it more for the CD changer. But if i can get one with DAB is it an easy job to fit.

How much should I be looking at for A CDC40 with DAB?
Is there much difference in price without DAB?

Also whats the difference between GID and TID screens?
