signum 2.8 auto gearbox

Hi Guys


got a problem with my AF40 auto gearbox

it seems to be whining in first gear as i pull away

just first gear !


what could be the problem ?

How many miles mate? Could be the fluid is low or needs changing. What are the gear changes like, does it bang around at all?

I've seen a lot of contradicting things about the fluids in these boxes, but I think it should be changed at some point but I don't know when!

car has done 72000 miles
gear changes are ok
sometimes clunks into gear ,but rarely

i wanted to change the oil .or at least check it

Sounds as if it could benefit from a fluid change.

Not got my head screwed on right at the moment at the moment but I am happy to write out some instructions for you later on?

Check the how to sections though I expect somebody else has done this here and written a guide already.

Change the fluid mate and the filters it will be 100% better

try to replace oil (filter can be changed only at full service gearbox opening) and maybe check for soft update for AT & ECU!
For other users- how is Yours opinion wuth AF 40 gearboxes? is some typical problems knowed?
