Default Fitting double din fascia surround

Hi all, I've recently got round to fitting my Kenwood DDX-7029 to my Vec, took my time and got all wires etc. in place for future additions like amp preouts, reverse camera and AV atc.

Anyway, went to put the "cherry on the cake" so to speak and I can't for the life of me figure out how this thing attaches, I've done a search on the forum and on google (which incidentally leads back to the forum ) and it seems a few people have had issues fitting these, I'm really starting to get frustrated with mine

Basically it seems too tight, I think it's the right part, I even took the liberty of visiting my local I.C.E store who confirmed it for me, on the car there is a small 2mm plastic lip which forms the double din slot that the cage sits inside of, it that what the fascia is supposed to attach to? and if so HOW?! lol

Any help would be much appreciated

You fit the cage INSIDE the fascia (so fit the fascia before you fit the cage).
