confused is it worth doing myself ?.

My vectra just passed it's MOT thank god, but there's an advisory that the brake lines to the rear are showing signs of corrosion, the garage have quoted £35 to replace them or should i do it myself ?. pipe & nut kit are around £12 & i could borrow a flaring tool off a mate, just don't know how much of a hastle it will be to do.

If they are going to do them for £35 just let them, as the fuel tank has to come down, which is a PITA.

Any grease will do, LM, White, or copper will suffice. Be aware that if you do laddle it on that it may fail its mot as a tester cant check them properly.

Aye prevention is better than cure, a thin coating every year, before winter, will keep them protected.

Just a quick 1... ive just bought some Hammerite Kurust and Hammerite Underbody Seal to do my brake lines... has anybody used this stuff?
Im going to use a small wire brush to get any rust and corrosion off, clean up and use the Kurust first then underbody seal.
