Default Piston Rewind Tool Vectra C

    Hello. I have a 2006 Vectra C 1.9TDi.

I've been searching high and low for information regarding the piston rewind tool. On eBay I've found various universal sets between £13.00 and £30.00 that claim to fit Vauxhall, although they don't necessarily specify the models.

I've found one particular tool that does specify the Vectra C (03 - 08), but it's an intolerable £40.00

Can anybody say with 100% confidence whether the universal kits available on eBay will fit my vehicle? If this isn't the case, I don't suppose there is a kind fellow in the County Durham, Tyne and Wear or other local area who would be so kind as to borrow me one for a day? I understand it may seem an audacious question but I can assure you I'm a good-natured person, and something can be worked out by way of insurance.

Here are two examples of universal sets on eBay:

    1) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Brake-Caliper-Rewind-Wind-Back-Tool-Piston-Kit-19pc-for-vw-audi-ford-bmw-citreon-/190648116519?pt=UK_Hand_Tools_Equipment&hash=item2 c63836527#ht_5119wt_1396

    2) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22PC-New-U...ht_3017wt_1396

Thanks for any information or advice you can provide.

The blue set look identical to the set I have, except I have a red box with mine, and bought from ebay too. The adaptor that fits the rears is the smallest one, the one on the bottom right corner in my set.

I have the red set - works perfectly on the right a bit more of a fiddle on the left but worth every penny IMO!

Thanks for the replies. Other than the colour of the cases, are there any differences at all between these two universal sets?

The Laser one says on the back of the pack that it fits Saab 9-3 which I believe has the same caliper as vectras but it didn't fit. In the end I was given a hand rewind tool with adapter by my local garage as the one they use is air operated so they never use the hand tools anymore.

You fellows have been a tremendous help. Based on the replies I've received, I feel assured enough to order the red one. I'll post how I get on after I've finished in case any potential viewers are wondering the same thing and want further assurance.

    Thanks.
