    Default Airbox Mod

Got the flat panel K&N and done the airbox mod ( top trumpet and bottom cowel ) inside.

However I've also added 2 more 40mm holes into the bottom front of the box and added a cold airflow pipe to each.

1st hole is bottom left front corner with 40mm vacuum hose going down into the wheel arch area above fog light.

2nd hose bottom front right with longer vac hose going all way along front of car and into the middle grill section adjacent to the standard cold air intake.

Noticed a sizable difference in how the engine performs. To start with it revs much much easier and quicker. Secondly when driving around I can feel the car wants to pick up and go easier. I've also got a crd-t fitted and I've really noticed that 4th, 5th has plenty of go, even as low as 2k. What I've also noticed is 6th gear has become useful and even has enough pull to start taking off from 40mph ish.

The go louder pedal now only needs a feather touch which is has made it a much nicer drive. MPG has gone up slightly too.

Placebo? NO.... i'd already tried 40mm holes directly into the engine bay ( hot air ) whilst it worked a little, nothing like what I've got now.

NO... what's made the difference is giving it cold air, not air in and around the engine bay.

Been toying with this idea since seeing another user's 2nd cold feed, just need to have a think about the routing of the feed pipe.

I've done the bottom airbox mod but not the top. maybe sometime i'll get the hacksaw out... Nice to know that's about the 3rd dude/ess on here to notice a difference....

Yeah, massive difference, the car will now tootle around easily at around 12-1500rpm in 4th 5th and 6th a little higher with just a feather touch. But at 1800-2000 it really wants to take off, at 2500-2700 the revs really shoot up quickly and you have to watch the gear changes or it'll redline before you know it, well for mine anyway.

More power?? Maybe a little, but whats happening is you're getting to the powerband a lot quicker so may "feel" like a shed load more power. ( if that makes sense )

Have you cut a hole in the front bumper to feed the fog light one?

Did you use "pond" piping by any chance

No, on the Siggy at least, there is a hole in the chassis directly above the fog light, just popped it down through this. I used mommy's old vacuum cleaner hose , I'll post some pics later. Going to find a black hose next similar to http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2607532505...84.m1423.l2649
