CD70 - steering wheel button stopped working

I have the full can controls (with rollers) on my steering wheel, the lower button on the left hand side has stopped working.

This button is used to switch between the radio and cd playback. I have a brand new spare set of buttons lying around my garage [as you do] and have tried them and they made no difference. So the problem lies elsewhere, but where?

I have plugged in my laptop and checked for codes and apart from it telling me my OSR door speaker was not working i did not have any other ICE or CIM errors..

This is a PITA, any ideas?

Also the button above it also not working correctly either, this used to cycle/move to the next stored radio station. Now when i press it i have some german woman saying something about the current function I am in, I am sure she says something about the phone system.

By the sound of it you have the UHP4 bluetooth module. You will need to get this coded via Tech2 to change the language to English. If you have this then the buttons functions will have changed, the top one will now be for voice commands and the bottom one will get you into your phone book on your mobile I believe.

WHS I will show you my bluetooth operation saturday Nige but you do loose the previous functions with UHP for those buttons

oh right, that will explain a few things... bummer, that makes flicking between cd and radio awkward

its becoming more of a pita now.. I am now down to one speaker in the front passenger door. I pulled the CD70 forward (did not completely pull it out) and i got back my other speakers so it seems I have a wiring problem now.. Way to many jobs to do this weekend now....
