    Default Am I worried over nothing

    Hi Guys,

    I was doing. a 70 mile commute it was a very warm day 27degree c ,my coolant temp. rose to 91 on a number of occasions. wcon hen i was driving at 60-65mph the temp was showing 87 when i would thrash it it would go to 90 on the gauge and stay there, i would be doing 80mph at that stage . it seemed to be worse with arcon. on .
    Am i worried over nothing . thanks

    91 is fine, the rad fans kick in at 92, which is most likely what was happening. Remember if you are worried about the temp you can always turn the heater up to hot, turn the fan on to 4, open the windows, and turn the dial to the setting that pumps air out the side vents. Ok it will be uncomfortable for a few minutes but will greatly reduce the engine temp and save the gasket etc.

    Thanks das do all cdti 150s do this. i can't. remember it doing this before. then again i don't remember driving in that kind of heat before

    Mine runs at 90/91 on the gauge all the time no problems,but if i go into the secret menu it says 100/102 quite a difference between the gauge and the menu

    Hi guys reading this is a bit of relief as my 1.9 cdti as been doing it last couple of days but today worse than before so bums bin twitching a bit lol. But my stat is knackered too should i be worried?
