Angry time for it 2 go....

i've had the Vectra for 3 months now and its just been 1 thing after another and now i'm just sick to death of it.
cant seem to resolve the issues without chucking more money at it!
even though it's a nice enough car,i think it's time to revert back to an Astra,as i've had 4 of them before the Vectra and had no major drama's at all with any of them.

just annoyed that i'm gonna be losing money on it,as i cant really sell it privately,so it will have to be traded in.....will be lucky if i see £1000 back on it,after paying £1695 for it

Having a 1.9 150 cdti I feel your pain! £700 in repairs so far and still runs like ****, knocking from the front suspension, creaking over bumps and very light fluffy steering!!

If I had the money I'd go buy the Mondeo st I wish I bought in the first place!

Its one of those things tho... I know people that won't buy cars that have had a lot done in last 12 months as it looks like there could be issues, whereas I'm the opposite, mine have always been spot on as something starts to go and it gets replaced... Yours sound like the previous owners have let the jobs build up then your now footing the bill, but same is true for any model, but these are same people that only repair their cars once a year at MOT time then think they have a decent motor to sell on

I know how you feel. I had it with my last veccy, I spent a small fortune fixing various faults, then 3 weeks later, it got written off!! But to be fair, if you buy a car for £1500 you should expect there to be a reasonably comprehensive list of jobs that need doing. It goes with the territory of older/high mileage motors.

Before you flog it and lose more money, why not pop into a reputable garage, tell them the symptoms and ask them to diagnose all the faults. That way you can make an informed decision on the next step. Good luck

i know how you feel i bought a mine from a friend that said its all ok just the clutch release bearing rattling wish i'd looked a bit better first i've had to repace the following
    inlet manifold
    swirl valve actuator
    egr
    cam belt and water pump
    thermostat
new discs front and rear and pads
    rear springs
    front struts and springs
both steering arm ends and track rod ends
    rear rose joint bushes
and just to top it off looks i'm going to be changing the dmf and clutch in the next few weeks but on the upside the car goes straight through its mot(good job i have a friend who works at vx so i get all my bits at trade price)

Most of those items are just regular serviceable items or things that need replacing due to age or general wear.

I couldnt agree more,it sounds like the previous owners didnt look after it and its just unfortunate that youve brought it at the time when it all needs doing.Ive had my car about about 18 months now and had a few issues but nothing that i couldlnt sort out with help from the guys on here.

I'm on my 2nd CDTi vectra now and have owned the first car since it was new in 2006. Done over 200k KM in it. The biggest repair it had to undergo was flywheel and clutch and that wasn't until last year after it started driving arround town with my wife behind the wheel hence I changed it for a car with automatic.
