Yes I belive one or two other members have had a similar "problem", GSI 3.2 will be along soon and put us in the picture, but why it happens I am not too sure about.

    Ahem... Thank you ed....

It sounds like you have the classic overfuelling that effects the V6.. Now modern cars don't have a choke to speak of, the rely on getting a cold engine running by throwing in loads of fuel for the 1st minute..it's this flooding that may be 'snuffing' out one of your spark plugs.. this condition can be made worse by a slightly faulty coolant temperature sensor, as it tells the engine it's cooler than it really is.. you will also find that it happens more now the weather is getting cooler..If it was happening all the time, i'd be looking at coil packs or a duff plug...but as it's only on initial startup i'm sure that you've got the overfueling issue..

as long as it runs okay and dosen't stall while it's rough running, i'd leave it..getting VX to sort it would be hard as they will have to re-create the issue in their workshops, and then try and alter the fuelling map..something they won't be able to do at your dealers..

Gsi has got this spot on. You could be unlucky and have a Audi/VW.

I had a Audi TT b4 my Vec and don't get me started on coil packs. Audi/VW would still not admit after replacing 4 Coil Packs that thier Coil Packs were defective.

Parking outside all night in this weather and living in Newcastle is damm cold and can be expected I suppose....
