    Default Hardwiring iPhone charger

Has anyone hardwired a iPhone charger into there car?
I'm thinking about doing this with one if these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CAR-CHARGE...#ht_1215wt_922 and cutting the plug off and wiring it to the back of the fag lighter

Why not just use this, saves the hassle, it's what I use.

Could do what i have done... Buy a 2 way cigarette lighter splitter, cut the end off which goes into the cigarette lighter, take a feed off the live which powers the passengers cigarette lighter and run the splitter into the arm rest. Then in the center cup holder, cut a hole big enough to get the iphone lead through and again in the bottom of the center arm rest and plug the iphone lead into the cigarette 2 way splitter. With a bit of modification to the cup holder you can get your iphone to sit flush inside it with the charging connecter just having to be plugged in. I'll get some pics and upload when i can to give you some idea. Its a 1/2 hour job and totally invisible. Been using it for a year or so now and it works a treat.

I bought the usb cig charger and with my dremel thinned out the top bit, so the whole things fit flush inside the cig lighter, and with the cover closed you cant see it

If it was me, I'd wire up one of these to save the hassle......................

Besides if you decide to change phones at some point then you may be lucky as quite a few phones nowadays charge via USB (Including if your mate need to charge their phone on a journey)

    Hope that helps
