Exclamation Bilstein B6s or Sachs + Eibach 30/30 or SRI 15/15?

    Hi guys,

    New forum! very cool.

anyway, my 1.8i Vec is currently running with Eibach Pro Sport 30/30 springs and Bilstein B4 shocks. - Unfortunately this combination in my car is APPALING!

I love the lower ride, but I catch the plastic valance at the bottom of my front bumper on curbs if I ever need to put the nose of the car over a curb for manoeuvring,.. and I've had to take off my Irmscher front lip as this is even lower than the standard plastic valance and gets completely wrecked if I go over a curb of a heavy speed bump!

Also, pairing the eibachs with Bilstein B4s on the front has caused my car to be a hell of a lot softer than when it had the standard OEM shocks on, which I can't understand? - everytime I go over a speed bump, the front of the car either "bangs" going up the bump, or "bangs" coming back down the bump where the nose of the car dips so low that it hits the bump stops because the shocks keep bottoming out all the time. - These B4's just aren't up to the job of holding a lowered car, all this banging is going to ruin my car so I need to fix it!

    So my questions are:

    1. Do I stick with the Eibachs, or do I invest in the OEM VX SRI 15/15mm springs?
    2. Do I upgrade my front shocks to Bilstein B6's or Sachs Pro Tourer SRI shocks (used as OEM shocks on the SRI I believe?)
    3. Do I keep my Rear B4 shocks, or upgrade these also to B6's or Sachs?

I don't want to turn my car into a super firm racetrack machine, but I do want a good smooth solid ride that won't bottom out or bang all over the place when going over potholes or speed bumps.

Also, I've ordered the uprated SAAB drop links to put in at the same time as this upgrade/sidegrade on the shocks/springs.

    Opinions please! ;D

B4's are not for lowered cars. They are an oem replacement for elite etc spec cars. Im not saying this is the issue in this case, but it is a point people fail to apreciate. I have B8's and they are excellent though a little harsh especially with my tyres. I would recoment b6's If i was doing it again.

Looks like I'm buying the B6's then!

I'll keep my eibach's and get the B6's fitted and see what the ride's like, if it's still too low I'll change them for the SRi springs.

However I have noticed that the front wheels of my car appear to sit a lot lower than the rear wheels, all on my eibach springs which is a bit weird. I'm sure it's supposed to be the same level on both wheels as it's a 30/30 drop.

Here's another question, does anybody know what the part numbers are for Vectra C SRi 1.8 springs? front and rears?

I had a look on eurocarparts but they're very confusing, and apparently they don't stock the rear sri springs for my car.

I was told the part number for the fronts is: 627722870 - however I'm a little sceptical now.
