cdti oil filter removel

I am going to service my vectra cdti during the week i removed the engine cover today and located the oil filter housing i attempted to loosen it a bit with a 32mm socket it wouldn't budge and i found it hard to get a turn on my ratchet is there an easy way off getting the filter off ?

take the coolant tank out of the bracket so you can get your hand in etc. better.

You will need something longer than your ratchet. I use my broken torque wrench that I use as an 'undo' wrench for things like wheel bolts etc... You just need a bit more leaverage. Moving the coolant tank just gives you the access you need.

remember that when you install the new one (with new rubber rings) - 25nm of torque only
