    Default spanner symbol

    Hi everyone, can anyone help everynow and then when i accelerate in 5th or 6th gear the spanner symbol comes on . . Nothing happens no loss of power etc , once you turn off engine and back on again its gone . I have plugged a diagnostic into the car but nothing is showing up . Any suggestions thanks terry

    My mystic powers say it's a 2.0t

    To the OP, have you been reading the codes with the spanner light still on?

    Some codes (such as boost deviations) are not stored and when the engine is switched off it resets itself

    Sorry lads its a 2.0t. And to answer johns question, no only diagnosed when engine and spanner light is off. Should i plug it in when engine is running ? .

    Get the spanner light to come on and then plug in the code reader, that way you should get a code

    I have this put kills power and even when light goes out after turning car off still know power. Until u clear codes with rwader then boost is back straight away. Even tho code reader cant get a code

    Probably over boost from stuck vnt vanes in the turbo.
