Default Going to view a 1.9 150 SRi tomorrow, advice appreciated!

In the morning im going to have a look at a 2007 sri with the 1.9 150 engine. What should I look out for? I know to check for a rattling dmf and that the swirl flaps in the inlet can be dodgy. How can i check the inlet? Any other common issues?

    Any advice much appreciated!

Check the wiring for the injectors - if yellow it will be the old ones and therefore vulnerable to the 3rd injector failure issue. This a fault with the yellow type plugs, upgraded ones are blue.

Go for a test drive, if the car is sluggish under 2,000rpm the EGR valve may be choked up or one of the vacuum pipes may have split (easy and cheap enough to replace).

If you want to be a little picky, You can look through the front bumper to see the state of the condenser as it takes a beating. Or just check the AC from in the cabin, make sure its cold.

As others have said though, Inlet manifold (swirl bar) Have a look on the forum for what you are looking for, there are loads of image's regarding it. Injector Wiring, oh and dont forget the thermostat! They tend to fail on these sometimes. If looking at the rear tyres, check the inner edge also, They have a bit of a camber on the rear, so may look like they have tread on the outer, but may not on the inner edge.

The engine cover just pulls off, but when replacing, put the rubber parts onto the cover then push back onto the top of the engine. Dont want to break it now :P
