    Default Signum Newbie, few questions......

    Hi all,

I am the happy owner of a Signum 2.2 direct elite, i never really considered these cars as you dont see many. I needed a car that would fit the dog in the boot and also be suitable for the baby which is due in a few weeks and this fit the bill perfectly!
Stumbled across it really, took it for a test drive and was smitten! Only done 60k, one owner from new with full VX service history, 53 plate for 2.5k which i was chuffed with, alot of car for the money!!!!
I had a mini cooper s previous and although there are some horror stories about the 2.2 direct engine it couldnt be worse than the mini......... had to replace the turbo, water pump, fuel pump, turbo water pump all in 2 years!!!
I am finding stuf out about the car every time i drive it, there are so many toys!!!

Anyway, i have a few questions. I want to be able to use my ipod in the car but dont really want to replace the headunit as i dont want to change the look of the dash too much. I have seen the parrot 9200. Does any one else have this and is it any good?
I like the look of the 18" exclusiv alloys. Do the 18" affect the ride adversly? I had 17" with runflats on the mini and was about 2 weeks away from shattering my spine so dont want to go back to this really.
Finally, i have seen chrome door handles and roof rails, are these easy to retro fit or is it not worth the hassle?

Im sure there will be many more questions to come!!

    thanks in advance

    russ

    Default Welcome

The Signum is a great car and I hope you will enjoy it. The only faults I have found are: Small crunch from 1st gear in the winter, weeping shocks and broken front springs in 5 years so all in all a very good car. But once you start modding the car it becomes addictive

Welcome to the site. Another Signum - cool.

Exclusiv 18 alloys are the best, although rare. I'd like a set, but can't justify the 150 quid a corner for tyres!

Chrome handles, go for the vx ones as they are solid, the irmscher ones are only covers.
