2003 2.2DTi Stiff gearchange when engine hot.

I'm starting to have problems with the gearchange on the Vectra.

When cold its fine, but once warmed up the change becomes very stiff and I have to force the car into gear.

Clutch bite appears very low once warm, but the car has always been like this to be honest.

I'm thinking the slave cylinder is on its way out. Maybe worth an oil change in the gearbox?

Any suggestions, please?

First thing I would do is ascertain is weather I have enough fluid in the gearbox. Maybe give a complete fluid change. Then take it from there.

I finally got round to doing something about this yesterday. I fitted a new clutch and slave and the gearchange seems ok now once the car is warmed up. Hopefully it will stay this way...

I thought I'd take a pic of the car in pieces.



It wasn't a particularly enjoyable job, but it was easier than changing the gearbox on by old V6 'B'.

Well done m8. You'l have saved a fair bit of money doing it yourself.

Did you change the DMF while you were on or did it seem ok?
