Question Honest opinions on lowering and ride comfort possibilities please...

I have lowered my 150 by 35mm with springs and fitted gas sports shock absorbers, they are average to cheap quality and the ride on smooth surfaces is great and it corners great too. However on rough terrain and our ever degrading roads the ride is a little jittery and too harsh. My question is can you have the car about 30mm lower than standard and still have a nice ride, do higher quality components help or is it just simple physics and when there is less travel the ride will always be more harsh?

I am at the point of buying another car, my brother thinks coilovers are the answer, from what I have read they are not and I only wanted to lower the car because an Exclusiv with the XP kit looks very wrong. What do you think, anyone had really high quality lowering and kept their ride quality the same?

The whole concept behind lowering is that the suspension doesn't have as far to travel so won't bounce as much meaning the ride is harder. I'd say it will always be fairly harsh.

As above! I have Bilstein B6 shocks on mine which are a premium brand but my ride is still harsh over uneven surfaces! But, its worth it for the better handling and better looks so im defo prepared to put up with it lol! Anyways, uneven surfaces probably count for about 1% of my total driving mileage at the very most

If you also have large wheels with ultra low profile tyres, this will also make the ride harsh. The larger profile tyres will have more flex in the walls, cushioning the ride.
