Default What polish, wax or products to get?

    Hey guys,

Im out of my car cleaning stuff, so looking to get some more supplies as used the last bits on the wife's faded red Astra, and managed to bring it back from Patchy Pink to Red.

Anyway, I was using the AG stuff, the one with the red sticker but its all out now.

Any good deals on anywhere? Which should I buy? I'm looking for something that will really just bring the paint work back to its former glory and also shine it, as well as offering some sort of protection in between washes and treatments.

The last batch I bought was from Halfrauds on a 3 for 2 jobbie.

Not looking to spend masses as I know some of your detailers have some quality stuff, just after some "everyday" type product(s).

Let me know your recommendations please and also what deals are on anywhere.

    Thanks.

Halfords have their 3 for 2 deal on car cleaning stuff again. AG SRP(the red sticker one ) is a great polish. They will also have good old Simoniz wax to seal in your hard work. Its pretty cheap and will serve you well, just apply it very thinly.

Im thinking about getting the 500ml AG SRP, as well as this Simoniz Wax you mentioned: http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/s...egoryId_165527.

    Anything else you recommend?

I want products that dont leave the manky white powdery dust after a polish/wax,.

AG SRP is a new formula and is pretty much dust free now, its also even easier to remove than before. I like AG Glass Polish too, purely because you can see where you've missed when removing it. Megauirs Endurance Tyre Gel is great too, the bottle lasts for ever, apply using a small paint brush or a small piece of sponge.

not tried to new srp . but heard good things about it . at the moment im using cherry glaze on the sons silver audi and it does not matter if you hit the black bits as it just wipes off and does not stain it . good a shiny imo.i tkae it you will be giving the car a good claying first , as i think this makes it so much better for the next stage . also a little go,s a long way .

Yes Khalid, I did give it a Clay first. The Astra being red makes it soo much more harder to treat. The paint gets soo gritty, thee red gets blotchy redy pink - yuck.

Ill probs pop down to Halfrauds and grab some of the bits and bobs. The Astra looks million times better after the treatment. The roof was actually a blotchy pint than a red. I dont really want to use any cutting compounds on it as im worried about how much red is actually left on the surface. Will do a proper clay of it in a couple of weeks and follow it up with a SRP and Wax to seal it all in.

But thats where AG has nearly everyone else beat, you can nip down to Halfords, Tesco or your local petrol station and buy it.
