Dipstick

*UPDATE*

Showed new service manager the bodged nut today and the fact they have twisted the dipstick and it cant be removed, bolts are on order and they have ordered a new dipstick holder/dipstick plus there doing a full engine flush and oil/filter (Just in case any metal filings from dipstick have gotten into oil as he was ramming it up and down like a chimney sweeper)

Also as a goodwill gesture they have said they will fill my car with diesel, its over half full atm so trying to use it as much as possible lol

It goes some way to rectifying problems but with a long list of problems ive had it goes no where near restoring my faith in Eden vauxhall every time ive been to have work done i have had to take it back as they have damaged or not done what they have meant to have done !

From Oil spillages,Power steering hoses left off, spanners left on gearbox,bolts missing and parts damaged then have me wait in dealership for 8hrs then tell me they cant do work and have no way to get me home lol

Think its time to maybe cancel service plan with them and move on Cars in on Thursday for all work to be carried out so will see what happens.

Seems to be a common lack of quality amongst VX dealers? My son and I both have vauxhalls (he has an Insignia) and whilst my Veccy C has been relatively trouble-free, his siggy has been nothing but trouble.

It wouldn't be so bad if the dealer actually sorted out the various problems first time round but it often takes numerous trips and constant arguing. Plus having to listen to their laughable excuses, including one time where the service desk guy said "so what to you think needs to be done?"!!!!!!!

It's back in again this week with several faults so I may be on here again with more news.

Well car was in today to get new dipstick fitted was at garage at 9am and they have just now told me the reason my dipstick was loose was when they fitted EGR cooler last time they must of over tighten the nut that holds dipstick to cooler and it's cracked the casing !! I need another EGR cooler fitted now

Was told car would be around another 3hrs and I couldn't have courtesy car because I didn't have my license with me lol So had another go and asked for manager and he's told service to give me a car and asked workshop guy to show me around my car to make sure there's no damage (in other words cover their arses) made me feel like I'm being petty and picky.

Agreed mate had enough now so another EGR cooler @ £450 lol

They did an oil and filter last time because I was concerned about metal filings from dipstick as it was stuck, I asked them how they checked oil level if they couldn't remove dipstick.! He just looked at me and scratched his head
