    Default Loss of power, 1.9cdti sri 150

    On my way to work this morning I pulled out to accelerate hard past a slower vehicle.I was level with it going uphill when my car stuttered as if it was hitting the rev limiter.I was nowhere near redlining but I changed up anyway.I then had almost complete loss of power.No turbo boost,just very low revs.Dropped back down a gear and the same thing.I had to let the other slower car undertake me and pull in to the side of the road with hazards on.I turned off the ignition and restarted the car and it drove fine.At no time did any warning lights come on.Has any one any ideas as to what this is,as it is not the first time this has happened.Luckily I was on a 3 lane carriageway this time,but had anyone been overtaking (illegally I add,as they would have been crossing a solid white line,but it does happen) I may not have got pulled over in time.

    It could be 3rd injector, or a glitch. I don't know someone will come along and help.

    If the profile is correct the car is a 2007 so it should have blue injector plugs already

    Hi ste,,~I am not sure if my problem is the same as I wasn't going as fast as the guy on the autobahn.I just lost the boost from the turbo and had only very low revs.Most people would drive faster in a car park than I could go.All told this is the fourth time this has happened now.Twice under hard acceleration and twice at around 40mph.Those 3 times were grouped quite close together.The last time prior to this was just after Christmas.Not long after that it failed to start one morning and had to have the high pressure fuel pump replaced.I was never sure if there was a link between the two things.

    check 3rd injector wiring plug, check vaccum pipes not starting to perish, check egr valve not clogged up mate theres a few bits as a start off that are pretty simple to check

    Could be the throttle position sensor. It can suffer dry cracked solder joints causing the throttle plate to momentarily close over and in extrmeme cases can shut the engine off . It affects mainly 2004 and 2005 CDTI's.

    what mileage has the car done?

    do you do short journeys ?

    It would help if I checked the right profile, doh!

    What colour are is the third injector plug? If its yellow it needs replacing for an uprated blue one with wire regardless if this solves your problem.

    I would also go with Gazcdti150's suggestion as well
