OK, any of you good people who are keen photographers able to offer me some guidance on my hunt for a used DSLR?
Many thanks for those that can help me

Don't worry too much about MP. Anything around 6 should do fine for starting out. The money you save on buying a 14.4MP put towards some decent lenses with low F-stops. F2.8 is a nice number. I have a Pentax sub £300 set up and am getting fantastic results as seen here. www.flickr.com/chriswilkinsonphotography
The main use will be to photograph the shops I design and fit-out to get them with some decent quality rather than a pictbridge camera or worse yet my Blackberry I have a small Fuji Finepix 3.2 mp that is barely OK for the task but wanted some expert opinions.
thanks very much Chris
So, you'll need some wide angle lenses. an 18-35mm zoom will enable you to get most of what you want in the shot. A 10mm will give you a wider still shot with a distorted/ fisheye look. It'll give you some quirky results. I'd also look at a tilt bounce flash and diffuser. It'll give you a better, warmer light on inside shots if you bounce the light off the ceiling. You'll avoid the 'glare' of a direct flash.
I was thinking 1 28-55 0r 35>70 but mounted onto what though, my thoughts are a Nikon D40X or a D70 (cheaper) or Canon EOS 1000D (as in the past I owned a Canon EOS 600 35mm which so ahead of my photographic talent in 1990 that it was a bit like me using a Ferrari Enzo to go to Asda with
I think you'll need something that goes lower than 28mm TBH . When i'm taking photo's around the house, i rarely go above 35mm. The 18mm gives you just that extra. It also makes places look bigger than they are
Here's a priceless piece of advice a pro photographer friend of mine gave to me. Go to a shop and pick the cameras up. As soon as you've got your grip on it, you'll know which one you want. Technology wise, there'll be nothing in it.
Thanks Chris,
I think you have actually hit the nail. I think I already know what one I want out of those
West coast photographer then Derek LOL
