    Default Which Towbar????

Hi, I'm looking for a towbar (12N only) for my Veccy C H/B

I want a detachable one as I don't tow often & don't want to spoil my arse end too much

I have a budget of £200 & will be fitting it myself. Any recommendations?

The ones I'm considering ATM are:

    BOSAL ( http://www.towequipe.co.uk/products/...loon-02on.html )

    &

    WESTAFALIA ( http://www.towequipe.co.uk/products/...-02-on-kt.html )

Both are £197 inc std 12N wiring kit. I assume I'll also need a 7-way bypass relay.

    Cheers, Nez

Thanks, It's a bit too far to collect, but I've asked for price on postage

I would thoroughly recommend the Westfalia. Its a quality towbar and really easy to attach and detach. When its not fitted you wouldn't know and best of all its really easy to DIY fit and a good opportunity to fit reverse parking sensors at the same time.

Does it need the dedicated wiring harness like the Astra does a plug in module or is the vectra different?

Plenty of used ones on e bay around £50.00 and cheaper, i know you want detachable you may find one and save some cash.

    Westfalia - great towbar

I have had 3 different brands on Vectras/Siggys, but the Westfalia has been best (and most corrosion resistant) Opel seem to fit them when ordered new I think.

Plug-in module certainly needed for full Canbus cars (2005 MY onwards?) but easy to fit once side panels detached.

Not much into bypasses - the Vaux kit with module may be a bit pricier, but it at least works with the electrics (rather than bypassing...)

Don't you have to drill 4 holes in the boot floor and then sandwich two plates with bolts between the floor; the lower one having the frame fitted to it? Sure I read that somewhere. I looked at one to put a bike rack on recently.
