    Default Timing belt age

I wanted to check on the belt since I don't know if it's been changed or not. A visual inspection looks fine, no perishing, running true and clean. I did note a part number on there (06381162), and wonder whether there is a way I can check on the age of the part from that?

The fact the writing is still visible is good I guess though..

    Any thoughts?

10 years or 100k so it will most likely be the original. Remember most belt failure we see here, on the 1.9, are down to the water pump seizing and breaking the belt. Personally I wouldn't go past 80k without changing both.
