The rubber gaiter on the rear lower control arm bush is cracked and perished. Is this something I need to worry about and if so, how easy is it to fix?

Mine is the same phil i was asking what it was called and part number a few weeks back but never got the answer lol
If theirs play their is will be an MOT fail.
With a bush puller it will be a fairly simple job.
I think the part number is 24469643, it's hard to work out from the Vauxhall system, the Saab system is a little clearer though so that's where I found it.
Couldn't detect any play just concerned about the rubber perishing. The tyre is wearing more on the inner edge so don't know if this could be a contributory factor.
I had my car in where i get my MOT's as i was hearing clunking when i hit potholes and got him to check them and he said they were fine no play on them and what was causing the clunking/knocking was my ARB bushes so i didnt bother about them and got the ARB bushes done and no knocking now
Thanks for finding us the part number Rebellion, much appreciated....
I wasn't looking for the number now but thanks anyway as it will come in handy when i do change them lol
