Default Cheap tool to read codes and reset lights for vectra c 1.9?

Iam after a cheap code reader as my car with spanner light came on and off while driving. Is there one that can be used with laptop? I think its the egr playing up but want a reader to be sure.

ELM 327 BT (£10 from Ebay) and use free Android 'Torque Lite' on your phone. Nice little application.

Also lets you monitor loads of engine parameters whilst you are driving along.

Regading Opcom / Vauxcom... if it can be considered as "cheap", then it is certainly not an official version, regardless of where you get it from.

Even if it is not from ebay, if it is less than £400 plus, then it is a fake unit, and cannot be discussed on here.

The only time Opcom / Vauxcom can be considered cheap, is when compared to Tech 2 / Tech 3 or TIS2Web... as these will all cost thousands rather than hundreds of pounds.

In response to your question - Any diagnostic tool is safe to use. They are only able to read and clear DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).

Only programmers can do damage to your vehicle. - In the wrong hands, they will turn a car into a lovely paper-weight.
