Default Battery Replacement - Anything to look out for

My 56 plate 2.2 direct Design Estates battery has been getting weaker and weaker and I think its about time to replace it. Is it a straightforward swap out or am I likely to get in to problems with having to reset things?

    Thanks

    R.

Depending on what model stereo you have - make sure you have your radio code which will need inputting - and reset the electric windows when battery re- connected. To reset them - ignition on - press 'up' control button until window fully closed and hold button down for a few seconds after window fully closed. Each window will need resetting the same way.

Thanks. Found radio code. Can I reset all windows from driver control or do they need doing from each windows individual control? Seems odd to have to reset windows. Why is that?

You can adjust them from the drivers control pad - the windows have a one touch close facility (presuming yours has this fitted - but I would think so) if you don't reset it you can still close the window but you have to keep your finger on the button until fully closed - once reset you just press and release the up button and the window will go all the way up to the close position. Its a memory thing that is lost when you disconnect the battery.

The door locks will also reset to the default locking/unlocking settings. 1 touch opening, anti hijack etc.

A 56 reg will be full canbus and therefore won't require the code following a power interuption.
