How can having a Windsreen replaced end up giving me a "general glow plug error"?

Car has been running and starting fine with no issues.
Went to start the car several hours after getting the windscreen changed and the fault appears.
What could have been damged or is it a total coincidence which I doubt.

The light goes out once the car has warmed up a bit.

Will check the resistance on the glow plugs in a while and report back

    Well checked the resistance and the results were;

    1.1
    1.1
    7.6
    NIL

    So two were faulty!

Sprayed them with penetrating oil and then went to VX to get the plugs (£50 for a set at GM employee prices)
Sprayed them again and left them for another hour.
All four came out without any problems

It seems the issue has been solved, need to do the missus Signum now as it has the same issue as well, bizzare..........

Many thanks to Telly Addict for the "How 2"

Nothing suprises me with the electrics on the Vectra - Last week I changed all four headlamp bulbs with Nightbreakers. First time I started the car got a bulb warning light on the dash - now you would think it would be a faulty connection on or around the lights I had been working on - no it was a brake light bulb that had blown and I know it was working perfectly before I did the front lights

If you look in the "how 2" section you will find this http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...gs-on-1-9-CDTi

Strangely enough they go back the same way they come out

Should take less than 10 mins to do

Well the hardest part is getting them out and you are most of the way there doing that. The easy part is putting them back in, just put a smidgen of copper grease on the thread. Have you checked the resistance to see which ones are faulty?
