Hello (and a couple of questions!)

I've just become a Vectra owner! Picked up a MINT '06 Exclusiv 1.8 vvt in Silver Lightning, 30k miles, full history, not a mark, scratch or chip anywhere. Seriously, it would pass for new. £4k inc service, 12 months warranty, new MOT, full Valet, 6 months tax & tank of fuel

Story is I was in Benfield up in Gateshead looking at a Focus (yeah) and an old guy pulled in to pick up his new Nissan (yeah) and this was his p/x! Never even made the forcourt. Well chuffed. Even has the 'protection pack'.

Anyways, I have a couple of quick questions - had a look on the forum but couldn't quite find the info so appreciate any help...

1) I have what sounds like tyre howl at around 75mph - best way to describe it is kinda like blowing across the top of a bottle. Could it be a wheel bearing? It seems to depend a little on road surface, if I hit a white line or cats eye it momentarily gets louder.

2) Are the headlights supposed to be like a glow worm in a jar?

Watcha marrer. Firstly headlights on vec's are crap. Tyres, get tracking and camber checked and are the tyres feathered? Finally, Benfield ? Last time I lived there it was on the other side of the river. lol

Yeah, the headlights aren't the best - going to try a set of the blue Xenon bulbs...

Car is booked in on Monday to see about the tyre howl and a couple of other small things, will post back when sorted.

Yeah Benfield is in Gateshead now, actually seems quite a reputable dealership - time will tell!!

what make are the tyres ?? reknownj for tyre drone vectras ,sometimes due to directional tyres being on the wrong side ..also cheap tyres give the roar .

headlights ,only way to improve is to fit H.I.Ds

Headlights are pretty crap, there is a how 2 on this forum to adjust them a bit higher so they light up a bit further. Also if you wanted to stay legal, stick a pair of Osram Nightbreaker Plus in (there is also a thread on here with pics showing the difference)
