Default Where's the best place to buy a rear caliper from??

looking for a OSR 1.8 SXi caliper as mines sticking and refuses to retract even with loads of copper ease.

Used the search and typed 'rear caliper' but came up with 'Sorry - no matches' ?????

What's the best to go for? Eurocarparts have them for 90-140 but state left or right rear...BUT is that looking from the front of the car or the rear??? Why don't they just state NS or OS grrrrr

Any help gratefullt appreciated as have 10days to sort it as going on hols

The easiest place to get one is Vauxhall, common part needed so normally have them on the shelf.

They have an exchange system, so you buy the calliper (£60 IIRC) and you pay a surcharge.

When you take you old calliper back, you get the surcharge money back.

As for sides, it's from when you're at the front of the car, so RH is nearside (passenger side) LH is offside (drivers side)

You are right in what you are saying, but I always thought the way it was supposed to be thought of as in relation to the kerb/pavement? ie. Nearside is the side nearest the kerb, hence passenger's side, and offside is the side furtherest from the kerb, hence driver's side.

Just an observation, interested to know what the real reason is if that's not it!

This is getting confusing - when the car is being driven correctly ie on the left side of the road - the nearside is the passenger side and the offside is the drivers side - presuming you have a RHD car.

    Default

    Eurocarparts
Left is nearside, right is offside

If there is a surcharge, ask if the item is in stock
If it is then I would suggest you remove the offending part first, that way the parts can be compared to make sure they are suitable
