I'm going to hoofddorp

Went into work Tuesday after the bank holiday to be told by my bosses that they are sending me to hoofddorp (holland) in 2 weeks time for 3 days. So on 23rd May I'll be catching a flight from Luton to Schiphol, Then some of my dutch colleagues will be greeting us and taking us to our hotel.

Have a spot off lunch, then off to their processing plant for a wander around etc. Thursday will be looking/inspecting some of their machinery and raw products. Friday will consist of about 2 hrs work, out for lunch and then see see a small bit of Holland then flight back in the evening.

I'm a bit gutted as I asked if I could stay the weekend (at my own cost) but got told a big fat NO. Just looked at the map, and it looks like its only about 30-45mins from Amsterdam That'll be probably why then.

Oh well never mind. It'll be nice to have a bit of a jolly, last one I had was about 7 yrs ago for 2 weeks at Daventry (they don't let the gibbon out of the cage very often )

Wonder if there are any decent scrap yards over there????????????

My employer has a training centre in Amsterdam so been over there a fair bit.

Hardest part was convincing the wife I was genuinely going on a course lol

Enjoy the 15 minute taxi from the runway over a motorway to the terminal at Schipol.

Sounds like a nice work stint! I go over to Portugal for work every so often, usually only 24hr trips but sometimes for 3 days, its nice! My surname means snow in Portuguese which they seem to love for some reason lol, anyway boss reckons Far East is on the cards next!

Luton to Schiphol? a plane??? don't be fooled a giant trampolene would get you there if it were not for ATC reg's that would be a 10 minute flight

Well I had an awesome 2 days in Holland, I say 2 cos like a clown I missed my exit on the A1 and due to heavy traffic this resulted in me missing the flight My employers were well impressed with me. loved the runway going over the motorway, wouldn't mind seeing it from a cars point of view. All in all even tho it was a work trip, I loved holland and I will be planning on a personal trip to do a bit of sight seeing myself, Might even drive over there.
