I had the pump changed on mine (with the belt) and the new pump lasted 16 months and 16,000 miles before starting to rattle. It's worth doing simply because if it goes you have to do the belt again, as I had to. Just make sure they use a good quality one.

Its the water pumps that fail most of the time and take the belt with it.

Vauxhall specified 100k or 10 years but reduced it to 80k or 8 years.

On the subject of cambelts, in the service manual it's got a toothed belt listed? Is this what Vauxhall call it? I'm a little concerned due to the garage who serviced and MOT'd the car in Jan bringing up that it haden't been changed. The last thing i need is the belt giving up and having a huge repair bill on my hands.

Yes the 'toothed belt' is the cam belt.

'Ribbed belt' would be an Auxiliary belt.

The non VVt is 6 years or 60k.

To the OP at that mileage I would definitely change it.
