    Default Knackered back brake caliper?

I noticed the other day that my back brakes were sticking.
The pads were quite low. so idecided to change them.
(also found a snapped spring and a screw in one of the tyres grrr)
one side the piston went in quite easy. the other side was a right son of a gun.
I managed to get it back with alot of force.
also the wear on the old pads was very uneven on each side of the disc
Now the caliper is still sticking intermitently on the back drivers side.
The hand brake cable seemed to move quite freely so i dont think its that.
Could it be a shot caliper?
any advice would be appreciated b4 i fork out for a new one

Could just be sticking , remove the calipers wind it in then press the pedal so it comes out and repeat this a few times you might find it becomes easier to move after a while
If not its a new caliper , quite cheap
On the bay to be honest

The caliper was a son of a gun to wind back. Never mind wind it in and out a few times.
New caliper fitted this evening. Problem solved.
    No more rubbing brakes :-)

i picked up a caliper from my local scrap dealer for £48 as they are nearly £100 ish each from my local motor factors
I didnt even bother ringing vauxhall cos i knew the price would be ridiculous
i just told them the year and engine size. they gave me a caliper off a 1.8 petrol anyways which was exactly yhe same as the one on my 1.9 cdti 150
and best of all problem solved no more rubbing brakes
the colour of the brake fluid was rather worrying though. next on my list is to bleed the system and refresh the fluid i think

monty why did you pay £48 from a scrap yard for a used caliper , when you can get them on ebay for £44.99 brand new from a company called jandrcvjoints.co.uk

didnt see them that cheap lol.
id be weary though as its not a gm part.
at least from the scrappy it was another gm caliper and i got it straight away.
i fitted mintex pads a couple of days prior in a hope that it was the pads that were causing the rubbing. and it was eating them away quite fast.
so i needed it bk on the road asap
