    Default Virgin Media DDoS'd

Oops, DDoS is a bit different to a hack last time I checked.

Virgin Media were just doing what they were told

From memory the court website went down as well...

I wonder why they bothered as a quick search on google and 30 seconds later you can get back on to pirate bay. And why just pirate bay when there is demoniod, isohunt and 100's of others, looks like we will soon be a state of China
Lois Griffin: Peter! You're bribing your daughter with a car?
Peter Griffin: Ah, c'mon, Lois, isn't 'bribe' just another word for 'love'?

You can search, but not view their website directly in the browser (thepiratebay.se)
However, there are ways round that and looks VM forgot about this...
(I am connected on VM by the way)
It's amazing what someone from China can show you in order to view any website, even a blocked one

VM won't have forgotten it, they'll just be complying with the court order and nothing extra.

All this is done is teach people about bypassing blocks and boosted the pirate bay's profile.

It’s like when someone says “Don’t press the button” all you think about is pressing the button.

Virgin is spot on with trying to get people to use Spotify and Netflix, that should be how they tackle piracy invest in these companies.

question is then where do we draw the line is it a question of legality do we draw a moral line as well do we proactively block access to child pornography web sites or are we only responsible if we are told too?

as a parent I am hopeful that we would adopt that stance

Child pornography is already proactively blocked.
