do you have a 2.0 turbo or a 2.8 turbo? If its the 2.0 then your engine is known as a Z20NET. Have a search and you will find a fair few having this issue at the moment, follow the advise in their threads and see how you get on..

Bsically you have a process of elimination to follow before you want to go replace parts you may not need to. Start with a good service like new spark plugs and oil change, a new air filter, new fuel filter, run through some injector cleaner and put some decent high octane petrol in. Clean the MAF sensor, clean the MAP sensor, clean the EGT and/or lambdas. Clean out the throttle body. Check your spark plugs if you didn't change them, check your pipework for air leaks.

Then take the car out and thrash it down the motorway keeping a sustained speed for a good distance to get it nice and hot, that should shift any crud and help clean the cat.

try the pedal test to read off any fault codes (see here >>>> http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81742 )

Its seems to be cropping up on a few turbos!

I've done the air filter, fuel filter, plugs and cleaned my throttle. Made no difference to the idle speed. Next is the CTS and taking it into the high revs a few times.
