    Default full size spare alloy

    just aquired myself a full size spare as hate driving on the space saver even for short journeys
    got it back to workshop cleaned it put it in the car and .........
    yep you guessed it it dont fit as the boot liner in the siggy wont go flat !!!

    anyway round this ?

    thing is lee it hasnt got a carpet its got a solid floor that pivots and clicks into place

    Can you remove the pivots and just raise it all an inch or 2 with MDF?

    Yeah... Selling it to me and going back to your space saver

    From memory you have to take the platic bit with the tools etc as this is pushing up the hight of the wheel.
    Not sure what you can do with these bits however when they are out...

    I think Kenp worked out what size tyre you could fit which would mean it would fit, yet you could still drive a decent distance. For me the issue isnt the max speed of 50mph but the max distance you can use it for.

    I reckon you'd need a 15" or 16" wheel with a narrowish tyre, maybe something from an Astra-H?

    i took the spacesaver out too, but i gotta 16 inch structure wheel with pirelli.

    i know its not an alloy but its a dam site safer than the spacesaver
