Default A nervous hello from Yorkshire

    Hi,

I have an '07 Vectra Life 1.8VVT. I just bought it second-hand as a family/motorway car a couple of years ago and it has been really good.

Anyway, now it has done 70K I thought I might have a bit of fun with it and make a few performance tweaks where I can. I understand from reading the forums that there isn't much more to get out of that engine but I gather the exhaust can be upgraded and maybe the air intake.

I also thought about upgrading the brakes - primarily because they never really been as sharp as some other cars that I have driven.

I have no experience of modding cars and will probably get someone else to do the work, but I am still interested.

Is there an order of mods to work my way through? All advice most welcome.

Please go easy on me because I don't really know what I am talking about :-)

    Thanks,

    Si

I live in Leeds. Probably should have put that in the profile instead of Yorkshire. I will change it.

Thanks for the quick replies :-)

Is the "K&N panel filter air box" different from an "induction kit"? Is it effectively a "better air filter" - i.e. just a straight swap? I did read about induction kits but wasn't sure whether my engine fell into the "too small" category whereby all I would do is reduce power and make it noisy.

Where do you start with an exhaust mod? Do you replace the whole thing from front to back?

Sorry - this must be such basic stuff for you guys. I figured the only way I will learn is by asking loads of dumb questions.
