I took a small (160 mile round trip) road trip this morning to collect some XPII 18" rims c/w Avon ZZ3 rubber.
The journey was mainly motorways and A roads (including the Woodhead Pass - a great stretch of road) and the car returned 40 mpg - I was very pleased .
The rims have suffered some kerbing during their life and so I will have them refurbed but the rubber is 6 - 7mm deep all over and at the mileage I drive should last a couple of years easily.
A couple of pics below (it's amazing what you can get in the back of a Vec).
The next trip (hopefully this week if I can get the time off work) will be to my local tyre place to have rubber and rim separated and then to a refurb shop with the rims.
I just wanna get it sorted now and get them on the car.....
If things go to plan I will be looking for a new home for my SRi 17" rims soon!
