    Angry Flaked off paint

    Hi,

Yesturday I took my car to get washed. I did notice that there was a birds droppings on the front bumper. When I had it washed and got home I noticed a mark where the dropping was and just thought it hadn't come off. To my suprise the dropping has come off but it was taken a bit of paint off the front bumper. It's about 3/4 the size of a 50p. I can only think that the mess was hard on the bumper and the jet wash has flaked the paint away.

I will try and get a pic on but I take it I either put up with it,or its a bumper re spray job?

    Any advice? Thanks.

Unfortunately bird droppings contain acid. Mate left some on his car roof and it stripped the paint to the metal and ended up with a rust patch.

If it is a plastic one it should be ok. Plus you washed it off so it did'nt go through to the metal.

You could leave it. It just depends on how meticulous you are about the car. If it does get worse in the next year or so you could have it resprayed.

Here is a pic of the bumper, would lacquer spray help this? I'll have to take it to a paint shop so it can be looked.

I'd use some 1500 wet and dry on it then buff it with some compound, prob be a million times better...

As long as your buffing head doesn't turn blue with the paint it shouldn't need a respray...
