Default Check your pollen filter after a service...

I changed my pollen filter a couple of months back, but just remembered to put a picture up of the old one.
I service my car a while back, and after going through the old service details, the pollen filter had NEVER been changed! Any my car is a 52 plate!!

The flash has brightened it up a bit, but it was black and pull of dirt when I took it out. Picture taken after I'd banged most of dust out..

Just a reminder to check your pollen filter is changed when you take it in for a service.

Mine has been changed at every service. They look a lot dirtier than they actually are. Its a grey colour because of the charcoal lining, not because Its dirty.

Not all the filters have a charcoal element.. they come in two types..standard paper and active charcoal..and that one looks about 2 years old...maybe less if it's spent a lot of time in city centres..

Remove rear bonnet seal and its under passenger side wiper, held in by two clips. A 1 minute job.

Its a good idea to change your pollen filter every 3-4 months, I use a different variety to my own design using filter media that we have at work, so it costs me nothing and I change mine every month, seing as its so easy to do.
