Do you have any 'check safeguard' messages?

If you have access to a multi-meter i'd check the heater circuit. The spade connector had fallen off one side of the heater element on my old vec. It was as simple as removing the boot cowling and popping it back on. Hopefully yours will be such an easy fix. Can you hear a relay clicking when you press the button?

it's the actual lines on the back window. Remove the covers at either side, pull one of the spade connectors off (if one's not already off) and check for continuity.
