    confused upgrading from cd30 to cd40

    hi all im looking to upgrade my cd30 to the cd40 with dab will the wiring be there ready for the upgrade or will i have to buy the loom as i no the dab has a small ecu type receiver box. if the looms not in the car already can someone point me in the right direction to buy the sections of loom (dealer???) any help appreciated cheers, daniel

    It depends if you have a half-canbus car or a full can-bus car.
    On the steering wheel, do you have 2 scrollers or 6 buttons???

    If you have CD30, or scrollers, then you have full CANbus set up.

    If you have a DAB box, then you can make up your own little loom, but you would need the 18 pin connector (as found on the TID displays of half CAN Vectra's).

    If you do not have the additional DAB box, then it is more or less plug and play
    Just need to check the 32 pin display connector for the power wires..

    Some TID's have only 1 brown (earth wire on pin 1) and 1 red (battery live on pin 5)

    The GID (Graphic screen) will need 2 browns (pins 1 and 2) and 2 reds (pins 5 and 3).

    Other than this, you are good to go.

    Do remember about the DAB aerial if you are fitting a DAB box.. try a patch aerial for simplicity. Saves routing fresh aerial wires along the roof, and changing the aerial base to include the DAB aerial component.
