    Default weird electrical problem

driving down the road earlier today i lost all clock function's, speedo, rev counter, milage and all light's, clock and dash lights worked fine when i put side lights on, it was like this for the remainder of my journey so stopped the car and with the help of one of my friends we checked all fuses in all 3 electrical centre's and looked for any obvious faults, all fine and seem'd ok, after this check clocks then comes to life on ignition key turn to poss 2 on 3rd go at turning and have been on since, i am thinking poss cim unit fault, no code recorded when checked with reader

then rear turn signal lamp fault appears on off side, check lamp, fine, check 2 more lamps both fine but still nothing, check for power etc with multi metre nothing there...

    called AA

he came out checked everything i had, then brake light gone on near side, he again checks fuses, test's for voltage, he then decided to put a fuse in REC number f24 and all goes back to normal and i have brake light and off side indicator working fine....

is it pure coincidence and car has had a brain fart or is there something lurking ????

    idea's & opinions appreciated

Haynes says REC F24 is "Battery voltage" and rated 25A.
    2 things I would check.
1 is the voltage across the battery both with and without the engine running, including when the engine is reving at say, 2K, or more.

2 is check for a loose earth wire on or near the rear lights.
I found a brown wire with a 5mm ring connector just hanging on one (of the 3) rear light bolts, ie, the wrong side of the nut.
I had no problems with the car before i refitted the earth wire, but somebody on here not long ago did have weird problems and cured them by fitting the earth wire to the correct side of the nut.

AA guy checked everything electrical in the rear of the car, he also did various test's to battery and both rear light unit's seperatley, he was there for around an hour checking everything and we even stripped the boot carpet out to check earthing point's and check for cable damage, all were good as far as he was concerned, he then looked on his tablet and placed this fuse in F24, iirc there is another fuse that said ''battery voltage'' in the REC when i looked at the manual, so god only knows....

there was no fuse in in F24 originaly btw

Clean ABS plug as also said, as it can cause similar issues.

Yes, F11 also says "battery voltage". Could be a bad connection on F11, and F25 is a duplicate one in parrallel.
But the ABS plug checking thread is an interesting one.
